What is the Bitcoin mining profitability forecast?

The CoinWarz Bitcoin mining profitability forecast is an interactive one-year scenario planner. It starts from live Bitcoin network difficulty, BTC price, and block subsidy, then lets you adjust difficulty and price at each of the next 26 difficulty retargets (about two weeks apart). The tool shows daily mining profit for your hashrate and power cost, plus cumulative profit over the year, and applies the next halving when it falls inside the forecast window.

How often does Bitcoin difficulty adjust?

Bitcoin difficulty retargets every 2,016 blocks - roughly every two weeks at the 10-minute target block time. The network compares actual block times in that window to the 1,209,600-second target and raises or lowers difficulty (clamped to at most a 4× change per retarget). As of Jul 24, 22:34 UTC, the next retarget is projected near block 959,616 (143 blocks remaining). The forecast places a vertical slider at each of those 26 future retarget dates so you can model faster or slower network growth.

How does the forecast calculate mining profit?

It uses the same SHA-256 profitability model as the CoinWarz Bitcoin mining calculator. Network hashrate is estimated from difficulty: difficulty × 2³² ÷ block time. Your hash share = your hashrate ÷ network hashrate. Coins per day = block reward × blocks per day × hash share. Daily revenue = coins per day × BTC price. Daily profit = revenue − power cost − pool fees. Between retargets, difficulty and price hold constant (step functions). Cumulative profit sums daily profit × days across each segment of the year.

Does the forecast include the Bitcoin halving?

The current Bitcoin block subsidy is 3.125 BTC. If no halving falls inside the one-year forecast window, the tool holds that subsidy constant for the full year. When a projected next-halving date enters the window, the chart marks it and profit math switches to the post-halving reward automatically. What is the difference between the live calculator and the forecast?

The live Bitcoin mining calculator answers “what do I earn right now?” using current difficulty (127.17T), price ($64,118), and the 3.125 BTC block subsidy. The forecast answers “what if difficulty and price change over the next year?” by letting you adjust those inputs at each retarget while keeping your hashrate, watts, electricity rate, and pool fee fixed. Use the calculator for today’s decision; use the forecast for planning under bull, bear, or rising-difficulty scenarios.

Can I model rising difficulty and changing Bitcoin price?

Yes. Each of the 26 retarget columns has paired vertical sliders for difficulty and price, expressed as a percent of today’s live baseline (100% = unchanged; range 25%–400%). Presets fill a linear ramp for common cases such as +50% difficulty per year, +50% price per year, a bull case (price +100%, difficulty +25%), or a bear case (price −30%, difficulty +50%). Is a Bitcoin mining forecast a prediction?

No. CoinWarz does not predict future difficulty or BTC price. The forecast is a what-if tool: you choose the scenario, and the site applies the same transparent profit math used on the live calculator.
